The town is very pretty, and the adjacent Dordogne river provided a stunning vista. The location was amazing, under the stunning Chateau de Beynac that clung to the cliff above the village. A word of warning - make sure you input Beynac-et-Cezenac to the satnav, not just Beynac as we did or you will be 3 hours from your destination!! The site was quite big but didn't feel busy even when full. We stayed at this campsite for a week whilst driving from San Sebastian in Spain back to the UK. This is great camp site in a beautiful setting, and the 'glamping' was worth every euro we spent! We had a great time and loved the tent and its facilities, which gave us greater flexibility and comfort. The house wine was great value! The pitch we had was at the back of the site and there was noise from the main road in the early hours of the morning but the campsite itself was very quiet and calm. Other reviews have dealt with shops and facilities. I have to say that the owners attitude made everything stress free. The owner arranged for us to be collected so that we could canoe on the river which was wonderful. The site is well placed to explore the area by car as well as on foot. The weather was such that we were notable to use the pool but again it was clean and well kept. The toilets never lacked any thing that was necessary. The shower block was regularly cleaned with plenty of hot water.

There is free wifi at the reception/bar which came in very handy. They were friendly, happy to help or give advice. The owners were very efficient in booking the tent and responding quickly to any emails no matter how trivial the request.

The site is in a beautiful location right underneath the Castle Beynac and on the banks of the Dordogne river. My wife who is a confirmed hard core camper was quickly converted to 'glamping'. Outside was a covered area with rattan furniture, there was a further large table for al fresco dining and two sun beds! There is electricity and lights. There was also a separate sleeping area with a bunk bed and single bed.

There was a dining area with table and chairs, a kitchen with a fridge, coffee maker, running water for a sink and an equipped kitchen with a electric hot plate. With a double bed which was basic but very comfortable. We stayed 8 nights after the high season had ended and decided to take advantage of the luxury tents that were on the site.
